    The cherry torte I had on Saturday was sooo delicious. The crust melted in my mouth and each taste of cherry left me wanting another bite. I will need to sample both the apricot and the cherry again to determine which is really my favorite…

    I was watching “The Office” the other night. One character, Kevin, said, “My hobby is baking.” Michael said, “Come on! Baking’s not a hobby, it’s just a preamble to eating.” In my case, he’s right. But baking – and eating the results – are both such fun!

      Thanks Beth. When you picked out cherry the other day, I was glad, cause I love those, too. I love those Italian Almond Shortbreads, be they cherry or be they apricot. They have a rustic and beautiful look, and when they are eaten they make people happy.
      Two days ago I took an European cake intensive workshop. That was so fun, informative, and now I want to do some little cakes, very beautiful, but I am going to tweak everything, and make them my own, and I want them to taste just as good as they look, maybe even better.
      For autumn, I am starting to fantasize (to indulge in reverie) about my own little cakes with layers of ginger molasses cake and maple mousse, interspersed with candied ginger and topped with homemade brittle shards. Can you see it?
      I will be posting some photos of my little creations from class. My instructor baked at Le Cirque and Payard Patisserie and other extremely well-known establishments, so he was full of technique and information.
      Now to try my own versions and my own combinations. My hobby is baking, my business is baking, my preamble to eating is baking, my…..
      Fun! Indeed.
